Kieslowski, the Polish equivalent of the Farrellys!

Have the dog days of summer got you howling like some sort of wolf-dog? Are droplets of sweat pouring out of your upper thighs and inner ears? Does your groenial area tingle? Then, you need some breezy and fun summer movies to lift your spirits! My recommendation? Krzysztof Kieslowski’s “Three Colors” Trilogy! These are perfect lightweight “popcorn movies” for your lazy enjoyment. You don’t even have to pay attention that much to watch them. Go ahead! Have them on while in the kitchen making Aunt Gladys’s famous deviled eggs! Blast ‘em in the rumpus room while lifting weights with cousin Rodrigo! Here’s a look at each flick (For added enjoyment, please play The Benny Hill Theme music while reading):
Blue (1993) – The wackiness begins as Julie (Juliet Binoche) loses her husband and daughter in a horrible car accident. (WHOOPS!) Then, Julie goes on a journey of heart wrenching self discovery as she sheds her life of materialism, grief, and love. (HUBBITA HUBBITA HEY!) “Blue” is a thought provoking zany romp, much like the recent Martin Lawrence comedy “Rebound.”
White (1994) – That goof Kieslowski is at it again with this nutty sequel, originally titled “Blue 2: Blue All Up in Ya Face!” This flick is about the emotional collapse of a fragile relationship and the attempts the helpless husband (Zbigniew Zamachowski) makes to resolve his unrequited love (Julie Delpy). (SLAMMA JAMMA!) It’s a great raunchy farce in the vein of “American Pie 2!”
Red (1994) – And the laughs continue with this concluding film that explores themes of compassion, mercy, and salvation. (ZING A DING DING!!) Valentine (Irene Jacob) is a model who accidentally runs over a dog. (RUFF-RUFF!) As a result, she is entangled in the lives of seemingly disparate humans, but ultimately alike. (AHHHHHHHHH…CHECK PLEASE!!!) This one kind of reminded me of "Austin Powers in Goldmember." It's a great end to a wonderfully silly and fart joke laden trilogy!
